Mail Call

During the noon meal time, many campers experience very mixed emotions in a kind of love/hate experience. Every child eagerly hopes and listens as one of the camp staff calls out the names of each camper who has received a letter, email, or package from home, a friend, or ooohhh! maybe even a girlfriend/boyfriend! Course the last one is usually a counselor, but any letters smelling of perfume or is in a pretty pink envelope with red hearts is instantly dubbed a "love letter!" The part of the experience that can strike silly fear (is there such an emotion?) in a kid's heart is the thought of getting three or more letters on a day or a package. If this happens, they get to join their counselors and sing a silly song! On Monday Ashley Montgomery, Charlie Leich and a whole bunch of other kids got to join in and sing the Barney theme song in front of the whole camp!
