Each year at HPC, there is a campus-wide competition that pits one half of the camp against the other in a friendly rivalry that lasts all week. Last year it was the Army vs. Navy and the year before, the Spartans vs. the Titans. This year each camper finds themself a member of either the Freedom Force in red or the Atomic Alliance in green. So parents, as you look through the pictures, if you see your child in a t-shirt you don't remember packing, its probably their team shirt that they are proudly wearing in support of their team! I can also assure you of two things when your child returns home, that you will probably have to pry the shirt away from them and it will be extra dirty =)
Pictured here is Destinee Lampman, who is sporting her Atomic Alliance support with a green face painted logo.
Even with all the friendly competition between the two sides, there was an even greater force at work between all the members of each team and there was this sign posted between the two team signs above the assembly building reminding all of the greater battle going on. Each day we see both heros for God and applaud them and zeros who are sadly displeasing God and for these we pray that maybe through their time at camp they will turn from zeros to heroes =)
