Parents, thank you so much for your patience! Pastor Josh, Nathaly, and I have been running around like crazy from the moment we stepped off the bus yesterday making sure that the kids got settled in and all important forms and such were taken care of. So, FINALLY, here is the synopsis of the trip up to this point….

The bus ride itself went beautifully! I still can’t believe that not a single child spilled anything in the aisle during the trip up. First, we laid down a few ground rules for the bus (i.e. this bus is not your room so trash may not be stuffed into the bus seats!), and then kicked off the long drive with a few feature High Point Camp videos from the past to get the kids excited about our destination. The kids then had a chance to get the ants out of their pants when we stopped at the park for lunch (which in my opinion was the easiest lunch experience we’ve ever had), and everyone got back onto the bus safely.
We arrived at High Point Camp (HPC) at around 2:00 pm, where we waited in the games room while Pastor Josh got everyone registered and the bags taken care of. Everyone had a blast playing carpet ball, air hockey, tetherball, and running around on the playground outside. The staff at HPC was kind enough to deliver the luggage to the various cabins, which expedited the baggage claim process and made it so the kids didn’t have to drag them to their cabins. By 4:30 pm, all of the kids had their room assignments and were on their way to meet their counselors. They then had dinner, free time, the evening program (with long-time speaker, ventriloquist, and animal balloons expert Mr. Ed), and devotional in their cabins before bed.
God has blessed us with a wonderful group of kids this year, and it is obvious that He is taking special care of His little ones. Please continue to pray that hearts are opened and claimed during this week, and rest assured that it’s all in His loving hands from here on out.
