At this point, I am sure you all know that the theme for this year at High Point is Mission: Eternity. Within this theme, the campers are divided into two teams; the FBI and the CIA. Pitted against each other in SWORD (Bible verse memorization) drills, team games, and pep rally-like competitions of team spirit, you can only imagine how intense the atmosphere can get at times. In fact, when the entire camp is seated in the Pavilion for morning and evening services, the two teams must be separated by a rope running down the middle of the room and controlled by neutral counselors! By the end of the week, the hard-earned points which were rewarded for winning the above mentioned activities are counted, and the victor announced amidst shouts of triumph and roars for an immediate recount.
The amount of enthusiasm and competitive spirit emitted from both teams is impossible to describe in such a short blog post;in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few campers returned home wanting to join the FBI or the CIA for real! So consider this advanced warning for if your child asks for night vision goggles, a spy camera, and a trench coat as an early Christmas present.
