One of the special perks of sending your child to CBC's summer camp experience at HPC is the fact that local media is there all week to shoot its own "reality tv" show and upload it all week to this blog. This is probably one of the only situations like this any where out there where parents can tune in every day and see footage of their camper and his/her friends while the action is on-going at camp. Most every other camp (including this one) does not maintain any kind of communication with parents back home while the camp is going on. This is especially comforting for first time camper Moms and Dads who find it a little tough to imagine being away from their son or daughter for a whole week! As a special treat to first timers, mid-way through the week, local media takes requests from first time Moms and Dads for a special personal interview video shoot with their son or daughter, giving them a chance to say "Hi Mom!" or "Hi Dad!".
